A round table "Economic situation in North Kosovo" organised in Zubin Potok

Release date: 01.12.2017.
ZP.jpg In the Municipality of Zubin Potok, a round table was organised on the economic situation in municipalities in North Kosovo after the Brussels agreement, with a special focus on the situation in the municipality of Zubin Potok. Participants agreed that there was noticeable increase in the number of registered companies in the legal system of Kosovo, but that they include a large number of passive enterprises, and that this is not a true picture of the level of development in this municipality. It was pointed out that the priority areas of economic development of the municipality of Zubin Potok are agriculture and tourism development, and that local authorities support the development of these sectors through various programs.

One of the problems identified by the participants is the low level of cooperation with international organisations, which are donors in these municipalities after the Brussels Agreement. They think that donors should adjust their strategies to the municipal development strategy, when it comes to the selection of industries they support. The participants of the round table were representatives of local self-government, private sector, employment agencies and international organizations.

The round table was organized on 17 November 2017 within the project "Analysis of economy in North Kosovo after the Brussels Agreement – where are employment opportunities?", funded by the Kosovo Foundation for Open Society, and jointly implemented by InTER and Radio Television Mir.
