Initial Meeting on the Support for Civil Society Organizations in Monitoring and Transparency of the Serbia-Kosovo Dialogue Project

sblogo_19077.jpg On Monday, 24 March 2025, the initial meeting of the Working Group for Chapter 35 was held to discuss the Support for Civil Society Organizations in Monitoring and Transparency of the Serbia-Kosovo Dialogue Project.

Dragiša Mijačić, Coordinator of the Working Group for Chapter 35, expressed satisfaction that the application for support of the Working Group’s activities was approved under the national call for the Smart Balkans – Civil Society for Shared Society in the Western Balkans program. He emphasized his anticipation of continued successful cooperation and further progress in joint activities.

The project started on 1 March 2025, and will run for seven months, until the end of September 2025. During the meeting, participants discussed the project’s key objectives and expected outcomes, highlighting that the initiative will contribute to enhancing transparency in the dialogue, strengthening the role of civil society, and building mutual trust among key stakeholders.

The meeting also reviewed planned activities, including roundtable discussions, annual conferences, and other events aimed at providing deeper insights into the course and content of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue. Additionally, the development of policy briefs and analytical reports was planned to offer concrete recommendations to policymakers and civil society organizations. It is expected to include the inclusion of all relevant actors, particularly civil society organizations from Kosovo, international organizations, and diplomats, to create a comprehensive framework for addressing dialogue-related issues.

Through these planned events and initiatives, the Working Group for Chapter 35 continues its ongoing efforts to improve the dialogue and strengthen the role of civil society in the decision-making process.
