Meeting of the NCEU WG for Chapter 35

Screen_Shot_2021_02_26_at_3_14_26_PM.png Working Group of the National Convention on the EU for Chapter 35 oragnised a meeting yesterday where the preliminary findings of the second Report on the Implementation and Effects of the Agreement on Justice „Integration of Serbian Justice into the Kosovo Judicial System in the Context of European Integration and Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue" were presented.

The Report was prepared by the Lawyers' Committee for Human Rights YUCOM within the project "Civil Monitoring for a Stronger Judiciary System: Phase 2", with the support of the Balkan Fund for Democracy and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway.

This report, in addition to findings on how the agreement was implemented and the Serbian judiciary integrated into Kosovo's institutions, shows the current state of functioning of the now integrated judicial institutions during the period of three years of the agreement's implementation. Based on the findings of the first report, the second report specifically addresses the involvement of Serbian courts in gaining access to justice to citizens living or exercising rights in Kosovo. The findings show whether and to what extent there has been an improvement in accessing justice for citizens in northern Kosovo.

The meeting was organized within the project "National Convention on the European Union 2020/2021, Chapter 35: Other Issues - Kosovo", implemented by InTER with the financial support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway and the Balkan Fund for Democracy.
