New_Picture.jpg InTER’s researchers, dr Vesela Ćurković and Slobodan Ocokoljić, participated at the annual Forum Synergies’ European Rural Sustainability Gathering in Beaufortain (Savoie district in Rhones-Alpes - France) organised on 18 – 21 September 2014. The event was co-organised by Savoie Vivante, an association active in this region since 1986, with significant experience in local social policy, environmental protection, sustainable development, territorial dialogue and mediation.

This event provided an excellent opportunity for exchange of international experiences of participants in the field of local sustainable development in Beaufortain region, which is characterised by the existence of an extremely active civil society. Special focus is placed on four areas: future of young people in rural areas, local food chains and hygiene rules, territorial dialogue and herbs and health.

More about the event can be found here

Beaufortain is often called the region with “four municipalities, 4744 people, 4 dams, 4 ski lifts and 4000 cows” and it is an example of the place where in the last 50 years local authorities, local community and other business actors from the region all participate together in the process of rural development (http://www.lebeaufortain.com/).
