Press Release: "Mokra Gora MTB Downhill"

Release date: 14.06.2016.
20160612_135051.jpeg In order to promote mountain biking as a new tourism product in Ibarski Kolasin, on Sunday 12 June, the Institute for Territorial Economic Development – InTER, Cycling Association "Tocak " from Kosovska Mitrovica and Outdoor In organised a unique cycling event "Mokra Gora MTB Downhill".

Forty 40 cyclists from the north of Kosovo participated at the event (Kosovska Mitrovica, Zvecan, Leposavic and Zubin Potok). After a short walk, the participants headed from Previja to Mokra Gora and the final goal, the peak of Berim. Due to heavy rain, fog and wind, the participants could not enjoy the view from one of the most beautiful peaks of Mokra Gora and bad weather also prevented them from taking a group photo and longer stay at the peak. However, bad weather did not diminish the charm of the event, because the participants had an unusual challenge – a 15 km long downhill ride. A ride at speeds of over 50 km/h raised the adrenaline levels of all participants who were visibly happy to find a break in the camp in the village Rezala where lunch was organised.

InTER wants to thank the following organisations and institutions for their professionality and support, which contributed to the organisation of such an event:
•    Cycling Association “Tocak” from Kosovska Mitrovica;
•    Health Centre Zubin Potok;
•    Police Station Zubin Potok;
•    Transportation Company “Kolasin prevoz”.

We express special gratitude to media sponsors:
•    TV Most;
•    Radio Kosovska Mitrovica.

The event “Mokra Gora MTB Downhill” was organised within the project “Let’s do tourism together” implemented by InTER and financed the Embassy of Finland.
