Conference "Danube Region Transport Days 2013"

InTER participated in the second stakeholder conference of the Danube strategy in the Priority Area 1b (EUSDR) called “Danube Region Transport Days 2013”, organized in Belgrade on October 3, 2013. Priority Area 1b of the Danube Strategy is jointly coordinated by the Republic of Slovenia (Franc Žepič, Ministry of Infrastructure and Spatial Planning) and the Republic of Serbia (Miodrag Poledica, State Secretary, Ministry of Transport).
At the Conference, opened by high officials of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Serbia, Ministry of Infrastructure and Spatial Planning of the Republic of Slovenia and the General Directorate for Transport (DG MOVE) of the European Commission, the discussion was focused on challenges and solutions in the field of transport in the Danube region, achieved progress in the implementation of the Danube Strategy, as well as activities implemented within the Priority Group 1b.
Joint conclusions of all participants at the conference are that a successful implementation of the Danube Strategy requires a more significant and specific involvement of national actors, as well as harmonization of projects financed from national sources and credit lines with donor aid, in order to achieve better effects. It was also emphasized that it is necessary to improve cooperation between all the countries belonging to the Danube region.
