Round table “Young researchers: position and opportunities”

A round table “Young researchers: position and opportunities” that will be organized on Friday, May 30, 2014 in the Centre for the Promotion of Science, Knez Mihailova 5, at 12h, aims at initiating a dialogue about the position and opportunities for young researchers in the Republic of Serbia, primarily around two parts focused on the following issues: 1) Studying abroad and return to Serbia for continuation of studies and/or employment; 2) Work of young researchers at universities/institutes and in non-governmental sector.
The round table is targeting individuals and institutions from the academic community and the non-profit sector working in research and science areas, as well as policy makers in this field. The discussion within the round table will aim at determining the current position and perspective for development of young researchers in the Republic of Serbia.
Results of the round table will serve as indispensable material and contribution for the analysis of barriers for the development of young researchers and challenges encountered by young researchers, as well as for development of studies of practical policy for each of the abovementioned thematic issues. The event is organized within the project “Establishing a dialogue between the research community and policy makers in the field of social sciences in Serbia, 2014-2016.“ coordinated by the Institute of Economic Sciences as the local office of the Regional Research Promotion Programme in the field of social sciences (RRPP), with financial support from the Swiss Development and Cooperation agency (SDC).
InTER’s researcher, Slobodan Ocokoljić, is a member of this project’s working group, which consists of four young researchers, and he will participate in the round table as a moderator for the second topic.
The round table is organized in cooperation with the Fund for Young Talents of the Republic of Serbia and the Centre for the Promotion of Science.
All young researchers and representatives of relevant organizations interested in participating in the discussion should confirm their participation at latest before Tuesday, May at:
